Our Head Roaster, Ben, works very closely with a team of local importers who specialize in sourcing the highest quality green beans. We have particular flavour profiles in mind when it comes time to select which producers to team up with, but agricultural practices and community involvement all play a huge part in the decision-making process.

Roast

Our first and favourite child, Rosie, was a 12kg Probat Roaster who still gets fired up regularly for our small batch Single Origin roasts. Back in 2002 when we first started, all our production was done on Rosie with back-to-back, round the clock roasting. Over the years Crema has outgrown it’s 12kg batch capacity and so a new addition to the family was introduced in the form of a Diedrich CR-70.

Sustainability is a journey.

Over the last few years, we have been trying new ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Our sleek and reusable aluminium tins have been a hot favourite with our cafes. Each week we deliver coffee in 5kg tins and collect the empty tins from the previous week. The next week, your tins come back filled with fresh roasted coffee!
