Carlos Gonzalo Eduardo Rivas Quiroa is one of the owners of the La Union farm in the Huehuetenango region. Due to its environmental conditions and soil quality, there was a lot of interest in this farm even after its previous 10 years of neglect. After major renovations and agronomic management, the farm now proudly boasts 22 different varieties of coffee spread over 17 hectares. As the name implies, La Union seeks to combine technical expertise combined with the new trends of the industry.

This Brazil coffee has golden syrupy flavour profile with a silky body and chocolatey finish. Henrique was only 20 years of age when his brothers Rodrigo and Silva chose him to manage the Samambaia Farm. The specific region is called Vertentes which translates to ‘a border between river basins’, and harbours perfect growing conditions in the cool, green hills of Sul de Minas. The yellow catucai variety is of Timor hybrid lineage – a cross between Icatu and Catuai. Cambraia and his team work hard to protect the water springs and preserve the regions local biodiversity by planting native trees.
