The Debo Washing station is in the Kochere region of Yirgacheffe, one of the most famous coffee-growing regions of Ethiopia. The coffee is delivered in cherry form by a variety of small farm holders, each of whom grow the coffee alongside their house on 1.5 – 2 hectares of land. Once delivered the coffee is sorted, depulped and fermented under water for 24-48 hours depending on the weather. It is then washed before being spread onto the drying beds for 10 – 12 days.
